Is the HCG Diet Right for You? HCG Diet Advice & Recipes

The HCG Diet is considered quite controversial by some and a Miracle by many. We’ve seen a growing number of dieters, physicians, and healthcare professionals who are recommending the HCG Diet and the number of success stories keeps racking up. But is the HCG Diet right for YOU? As the author of the HCG Diet Gourmet Cookbook Series, I’ve been asked countless times by dieters, “Do you think this will work for me?” “How do I know that this is the best diet plan for me?”

I’ve compiled a few tips and HCG Diet advice to consider as you contemplate your overall health and if the HCG Diet is your best path to slimness that will work best for you. In the end of course, your choice is your own and I recommend discussing the benefits and concerns with your healthcare provider.

Is the HCG Diet Right For you?

Have you tried nearly every other diet before and nothing has worked? Do you feel like you eat normally or even less calories then other people and still can’t lose weight? This may indicate a slower metabolism, metabolic syndrome and other conditions the HCG Diet can benefit.

Do you have the discipline to stick to the diet closely for your best success? The HCG Diet requires a level of commitment. Deviation from the program can result in weight gain and other health issues. Best results can be attained by staying true to the program. If you are worried about enjoying your food? Try some of my delicious HCG Phase 2 recipes and get the right HCG Diet advice from my HCG Diet Gourmet Cookbooks Vol. 1 and 2.

Other than being overweight are you generally in good health? Do you have any health issues that would steer you away from the HCG Diet such as a hormonally based cancer, Type 1 diabetes, low blood pressure or hypoglycemia. Keep in mind that you need to discuss this with your provider. The HCG Diet may still be right for you but you may require additional monitoring.

If you answered YES to any of these questions than I do urge you to at least consider this program as an option especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. Look at the benefits and consider your health and medical history and the side effects (such as hair loss in some dieters) in making your decision. The HCG Diet is natural and non-surgical and any improvements in your health resulting from significant weight loss can really change your life.

The HCG Diet is not right for everyone but for myself and countless others it was the right decision and our lives will never be the same.

I'm on my third round of the HCG protocol. The first two times I lost about 8 1/2 right off the bat and then nothing. I'm hoping to try it again and not get discouraged. The first time I stuck with it for 3 weeks then gave up with no weight loss after the first 10 days. The second round I gave up at 14 days thinking it just doesn't work for me….so why did I try it again….well 8's better than nothing and I felt great while I was on it and I lost in the right places…..but please how do I lose more? I'm very committed and do not cheat at all….if I do anything it might be that I don't eat everything every single day.

Hi Melody! I would consider returning to your doctor and questioning the freshness of the hcg or possibly switching brands or change from drops to injections, or from homeopathic to RX hcg. You didn’t mention how much weight you lost or what your current weight is but the HCG diet doesn’t help you to get to that skinny ‘gaunt’ look so if you’re at that point, the HCG will not help. You also do need to make sure you eat your 500 calories each day as you need these foods to help the HCG work and keep your body levels up. Best of luck to you!

I have lost a total of 28lbs – I am almost finished with the second time around The first time I lost 19 lbs and this time so far I have lost 9 more making a total of 28lbs. I am in my 60tys and it was hard to lose but with HCG I have lost. I am pleased.

This is fantastic! Are you doing the shots or pill form? Did you need to get it from a doctor? Shannon has been thinking about it. Very proud of you!

Zelma, that’s so wonderful to hear – good for you! I love hearing people’s success stories and love that you didn’t let age stop you from becoming more healthy.

I am very confused. I see many places stating that you are only allowed one vegetable at each meal yet many recipes I find have more than one. Are we allowed more than one vegetable at meals or not? I’m currently only eating one and having great results but getting very bored. Thank you!

      Hi Amanda,

I do use small amounts of onions as a “spice” in many of my recipes. It doesn’t effect the weight loss results for most dieters but feel free to omit them if you wish. All the best to you!
