Health Benefits of Coconut Oil HCG Phase 3

Coconut Oil HCG Phase 3 Health benefits coconut halves
Coconut oil has gotten a bad rap over the years – being touted as bad for you since it contains saturated fat. Recent studies show that coconut oil is actually beneficial for weight loss and overall health.  As an HCG dieter, you may have a few questions as to whether or not you can have coconut oil on Phase 3.

Although federal dietary guidelines recommend consumers limit saturated fat to less than 10% of daily calories, nutritionists have noted that not all saturated fats are the same, which has caused scientists to backtrack on their previous reports against using coconut oil – making it a great choice for those on Phase 3 of the HCG Diet.  There is a reason Coconut Oil made our HCGRecipes.com Top 10 Superfoods for HCG Phase 3

The main saturated fat in coconut oil is lauric acid which is a medium-chain fatty acid. Lauric acid increases levels of good HDL (high-density lipoprotein) and doesn’t increase bad LDL (low-density lipoprotein) in the blood. Some saturated fats, like those in coconut oil, boost immunity, fight aging and increase the level of metabolism, helping you to lose weight.

One of the best reasons to use coconut oil on Phase 3 is the taste it adds to food, particularly virgin coconut oil, during Phase 3 of the HCG Diet. The fact that it’s healthy, does not go rancid and is easy on the pocketbook just adds to its appeal. It’s been shown to be very useful in reducing weight because it contains short and medium-chain acids that help in removing excess weight by increasing body metabolism. Studies have shown that people in tropical coastal areas who primarily use coconut oil for cooking are normally not overweight, further proof that coconut oil can help you manage your weight. Vegans have particularly embraced using coconut oil  since it can be used in place of butter.

I was told by a medical center in my home town I could use coconut oil in phase 2. I have only lost 17 lbs in 40 days. I am afraid it may have been from the coconut oil. Has anyone else been told they could use MCG or cocnut oil (1 T per day) on phase 2?

Hi Kim, NO!!!! I don’t know why people are recommending Coconut oil on P2. It will cause you to lose only half the weight you would have otherwise lost. It’s not worth it and will impair your weight loss. Best of luck to you!

I forgot another thing. I was also told I could use Truvia instead of Stevia. Has anyone heard this as well?

You can use Truvia which has some Erythritol in it. I personally prefer pure Stevia but Erythritol and Xylitol are fine for the HCG Diet and shouldn’t stall your weight loss. All the best to you!

I have downloaded a grissini recipe, but wasn’t sure if I could use it in phase 2. It calls for yeast and olive oil? Can this replace Melba toast on phase 2?
