Okay, I love tea but can’t drink it unless sweet. But unfortunately I am highly allergic to any type of sugar free sweetners. I would need an epi-pen if I use any of the these items. Does anyone have a suggestion for me or should I live with out tea for the rest of my life

I’ve been drinking a lot of teas iced lately because of the hot weather. I’ve been adding orange, apricot, vanilla, or grape flavored liquid stevia (Sweetleaf brand). You could also make tea from any number of delicious flavors and add lemon and plain stevia for sweetness. Stevia won’t stall your weight loss. Stevia is a natural leaf so it shouldn’t cause a reaction but if you are concerned, then you should check with your Dr. first.

Thanks, but unfortunately Stevia is a big no-no. According to my Dr. any item like stevia, or saccarine or other types will kill me within an hour. I guess tea will be forever loss. Along with any other items. Also am allegic to the non-fat items, have been this way since birth, my poor mother had a hard time with me. I just eat lettuce, cukes, tomatoes and beef or chicken.

That is too bad Donalyn. I’ve never heard of anyone being allergic to stevia. Ask your doctor about Erythritol or Xylitol. Many naturopaths and doctors recommend it as a sweetener alternative. Just keep doing what you are doing with your doctor’s advice and eat foods you can tolerate. Best of luck to you!

Has anyone tried the new product called Nectresse – made from Monk Fruit? Would that be an acceptable sweetener?
