Broiled Grapefruit Recipe Phase 2 HCG Diet

 

When I was on HCG Phase 2, I would occasionally get a little sweet tooth.  That desire for something sweet and delicious can take away the urge to cheat and satisfy any cravings that might throw you off the success track for your diet.

I love a good broiled grapefruit.  Traditionally, that means loads of sugar caramelized with an array of spices.  Super tasty when prepared that way of course, but NOT on protocol.  The deliciousness of broiled grapefruit inspired this HCG Phase 2 approved broiled grapefruit recipe created just for HCG Dieters.

I added the warm spicy flavors of vanilla and fresh ginger to create this absolutely yummy HCG Phase 2 dessert recipe.  Feel free to substitute a touch of ginger paste, powdered ginger, or minced ginger from a jar if fresh ginger isn’t readily available to you.

Broiled Grapefruit Recipe Phase 2 with Vanilla and Ginger

IngredientsBroiled Grapefruit Recipe I

1/2 grapefruit

1/8 teaspoon vanilla powder

1/8 teaspoon ginger, freshly grated (Substitute powdered or bottled)

Vanilla, pure stevia, or Valencia Orange flavored Stevia drops to taste

Directions

Cut a medium to large grapefruit in half.  You may choose to use a sharp knife to segment around the edges of the grapefruit for easier access.  Sprinkle grapefruit half with vanilla powder and fresh grated ginger.  Add a few drops of Stevia, up to one for each segment and place under the broiler for approximately 3-5 minutes until the ginger and rind start to brown.  Allow your grapefruit to cool slightly and serve warm.

Phase 3 Recipe Ideas:   Serve warm over chilled or frozen vanilla Greek yogurt sweetened lightly with Stevia.  Delicious!
