HCG Diet Phase 3 Foods List – Protein

You can enjoy a wide variety of proteins including all animal protein, eggs and dairy.  You do not have to worry about the fat content or amounts as your body is in a primarily Keto state on Phase 3.  Portion your proteins to satisfy your hunger rather than counting calories.  Phase 3 is a time when your body sets a new calorie requirement so it is important to remember not to continue dieting during this time.  It is important to eat plenty of nutritious food as it sets the pace for your new, faster metabolism.  When choosing your proteins for HCG Phase 3, choose whole, unprocessed protein for your meals rather than overly sugared, salted, and preserved meats.  I like to choose organic, wild caught, free range, and grass fed meats.  Eat clean, read labels, and avoid anything processed or prepared with sugar.

Beef (All cuts)

Chicken (all cuts)

Seafood (Fish, Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, etc.)

Pork (All cuts, uncured bacon and ham etc.)

Cheese and Dairy (See below)

Whey, Pea, and Rice protein powders (unsweetened and sweetened with Stevia or other natural, sugar free, sweetener)

HCG Phase 3 Foods List – Vegetables

Any non-starchy vegetable with a GI of under 30 is fine. Choose colorful, nutrient rich veggies and vary your diet.  Avoid starchy vegetables like winter squash, green peans, corn, and root vegetables like potatoes and parsnips.

Lettuce and Greens (Chard, Spinach, Mustard,

Peppers (Bell Peppers, Jalapeños, Anaheim, Pasillas, etc.)

Cauliflower (A low carb staple that can be roasted, pureed, and used a variety of ways)

Onions and Garlic

Herbs (All fresh and dried herbs are approved)

Brussel Sprouts

All other non-starchy vegetables are HCG Phase 3 approved.

HCG Diet Phase 3 Foods List – Fruit

All fruit in moderation is allowed on P3.  Exercise caution with your portions though, some dieters have more trouble stabilizing if they eat too much fruit.  Whenever possible, choose lower sugar fruits like fresh berries and avoid dried fruit due to the concentration of the sugars in the drying process and avoid drinking fruit juices.  Eat your fruit whole with all the fiber, skin, and nutrients when possible.  Exercise caution with eating too much pineapple and watermelon and it is wise to completely avoid bananas on P3 due to the starch and sugar content until you reach Phase 4 Maintenance.

Berries (Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries etc.)

Melon (Honeydew, cantaloupe and other melons)

Peaches and Nectarines

Plums (avoid prunes)

All other fresh, whole fruits are HCG Phase 3 Approved in moderation

HCG Diet Phase 3 Foods List – Oils and Fats

My favorite Oils and Fats to cook with are Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and Real butter.  Most oils and fats are allowed on Phase 3 and you can be confident in cooking liberally with them.  Oils to avoid are trans fats and artificial products like margarine and Crisco.  Many oils like Canola and vegetable oils have been deemed less than healthy or made from GMO ingredients.  Any oil is technically allowed but ideally choose the healthy fats you can.

Coconut Oil

Olive Oil

Nut and Seed Oils (Hazelnut, Walnut, Grapeseed, Sesame, flax, almond, etc.)

Bacon grease

HCG Diet Phase 3 Foods List – Nuts and Seeds

Many nuts and seeds are allowed in moderation on Phase 3.  Some nuts and seeds have a starch component so check the Glycemic Index and avoid nuts and seeds with higher starch content (cashews and sesame seeds have a higher starch content for example)

Almonds (One of my favorite HCG Diet Snacks)

Peanuts and Peanut Butter (Note:  Some dieters have trouble stabilizing on P3 when eating Peanut Butter)

Chia Seeds

Note:  Be extra cautious with the following Nuts and Seeds due to their higher starch content

Sesame Seeds

Pignoles (Pine Nuts)

Sunflower seeds

HCG Diet Phase 3 Foods List – Dairy (optional)

When on Phase 3, you can feel free to eat most full fat dairy products.  Avoid skim or low fat dairy as the milk sugars can interfere with stabilization.  Avoid processed and artificial cheese products.

Cheese (most full fat, unprocessed, unsweetened cheeses are acceptable)

Half and Half, whole milk, and cream

Greek Yogurt (Unsweetened full fat varieties only)
