A year and a half after completing my last round of hcg dieting, I feel absolutely compelled to share some of my Lifestyle secrets to successful HCG Diet Maintenance.

10 Tips for a Healthy Maintenance Lifestyle

  1. High fiber carbs is the key. I enjoy ezekial toast and tortillas, oatmeal, brown rice and high fiber pasta in moderation.
  2. 5+ fruits and vegetables a day and 1/2 your body weight in ounces of protein.
  3. Take digestive enzymes with meals
  4. Follow a low carb Paleo maintenance diet
  5. Consider eating Gluten Free
  6. Exercise regularly doing something you enjoy
  7. Drink plenty of water
  8. Detox your body periodically (Colon cleanse, liver, candida, etc.)
  9. Have a support system:   Support group, Coach, and friends and family to keep you on track
  10. Avoid sugar and artificial sweeteners
On the HCG phase 4 it is important to choose the right foods.  My best advice to HCG dieters is to Ignore the processed foods and simple carbohydrates like white bread and sugar.  Choose instead to get most of your carbs from fresh fruits and vegetables.  Not only do you get the fiber but all the healthy phytonutrients found in the foods.  Getting some form of exercise is important helps keep the metabolism up.  plenty of protein, and a positive attitude.

Personally, I also take a green drink daily and occasionally a shake made with high quality whey protein. I observe a generally low carb diet, avoid processed foods and minimize sugar and white carbs. My every day diet philosophy is to always do my best to eat clean, healthy, and organic. For exercise I mostly take walks, hike, do stretching and rebounding.  I enjoy working with light weights for toning and strengthening and take a sauna for detox whenever possible.

    Tammy..
Hey! I bought your book about 18 months ago when it was still an ebook.
congrats on your accomplishments. I never made it to my goal of 120 but did get to a LIW of 125 back in January. I had sworn it to be my last round of HCG, but had to go back on this month due to a jump in the scales. I had been gradually creeping up despite watching the carbs and sugar…I hovered around 133 for 4 months, then went on a cruise…(need I say more about that)

I believe I am one that wil have to exercise in addition to watching my carb intake in order to maintain my weight. Is it entirely possible that my body will just not go below 125 pounds? Before this round, I only lost about 14 lbs and I did the 45 day protocol (from mid Dec

We just started phase 3 this week. Where do you buy your “high fiber carbs” and what brand are they. My hubby has made it 40+ days with no tortilla and would love to find a healthy alternative to the flour ones i used to always buy, of course he will need this in moderation too!
    thanks

    Hello, Tammy,

I am just finishing Phase 2 of the HCG diet, under Nursing Practitioner supervision. I just read your comment on maintenance. I am curious about that phase 4. I see you say eat 1/2 my weight in ounces of protein. that would be 62 ounces per day? or am I misreading this….or do you mean 62 ounces of water…then how many ounces of protein per day?
Thanks, just curious to know. I love the HCG diet and have lost 16 pounds without any plateaus down to my ideal body weight. Am very pleased especially since I have a low thyroid. This diet has been an answer to prayer for me. Thanks for your HCG gourmet diet cookbook. Most of the recipes are tasty and easy to make. The book has helped me with ideas and kept me on-track.
