Chimichurri Steak Recipe Phase 2

On my recent honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, I got to taste some of the amazing flavors and food of Costa Rica like this Chimichurri Steak recipe Phase 2.  The use of Chimichurri herbs and flavors originated in Argentina and is a staple of many Central and South American countries.  If you’ve never had Chimichurri steak before, you are in for quite a treat.  The  combination of garlic, lemon, and crisp, fresh parsley create a truly memorable and tasty Phase 2 meal.  My Chimichurri steak recipe Phase 2 is so simple to make and delicious that you might just forget you are on the HCG Diet!


Serving Suggestions:

Chimichurri Steak Recipe Phase 2


100 grams lean steak (london broil or any other lean steak, trimmed, fat removed

Salt and pepper to taste

Chimichurri Sauce Recipe Phase 2

IngredientsChimichurri Steak Recipe Phase 2 Ingredients parsley, lemon, red onions, peppercorns

3 tablespoons parsley leaves, minced

1 tablespoon red onion, minced

1 clove garlic, crushed and minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar

Pinch of red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon fresh oregano, minced (substitute 1/2 teaspoon dried)

Salt and pepper to taste


Prepare parsley and other ingredients, cutting off the length of the stems and mince the leaves.  Combine parsley, onions, garlic, spices and finely mince all ingredients.  Add lemon juice and vinegar to herbs and serve chunky style or blend in a bullet blender or food processor until smooth.  Cook steak to desired level of doneness (saute’ on medium-high heat (with or without a little water) or grill on the barbecue.  I like my steak cooked Medium rare – medium, but you can cook your steak to desired level of doneness as you wish.  Allow steak to rest for 2-3 minutes, slice, top with Chimichurri sauce and serve.
